Advice: Travel to Brazil

    Folks, a little help please...

I am planning to travel to Rio, Brazil in mid February. I have still to book my flights but I am not sure exactly how long I will stay in the country or were I will travel onwards to... I plan to train in a martial art while I am there and may stay for up to 12 weeks...

Can anyone advice if I will have any difficulty entering the country if i just book a one-way flight into the country with no onward journey planned?

Also, I am from N.I and so have both an Irish and a UK passport. Am I right in thinking that I won't require a visa for Brazil if I travel on my Irish passport?

Any other general tips on Brazil are of course welcome!!

    Thanks.

You definitely won't need a visa, as for the onward travel you've about a 50% chance of being asked. Officially you should have it, but they don't always ask to see it. If it were me I'd book some kind of something out of the country before entering. Back in the day LAN had a 24 hour full refund I used; book it, enter country, cancel.

One thing to note is that a few friends of mine went to Brazil and ended up spending a lot more money than they thought they would, so check out prices of lodgings and things before you go.

I agree on the prices. I was there nearly two years ago and it cost me around €60 a day.
