Boiler switching itself off after a while?

Haven't used the central heating (successfully) since draining the water from the system over the Christmas. The small tank for the central heating was not (intentionally) drained. Some ice would definitely have formed in this tank over the Christmas.
There is a hole in one of the rads which soaked the entire floor of the room it was in, so it has been leaking for a while. Only noticed that yesterday evening. Turned the "taps" - name escapes me - on the radiator as much off (clockwise) as they could go, but there's still enough water dripping out of the hole in the radiator (up near the top) to fill a decent-sized saucepan every few hours.
Have plenty of kerosene in the tank, and the boiler switches on okay, starts up etc. but after a while it just knocks itself off.

Is this more likely to be a fault with the boiler, or might it be caused by an airlock in the system? (Haven't bled it just yet as I've not got the necessary tools handy). And, aside from bleeding, how might one remedy the situation?

If there is a hole in the radiator, its time to change it asap. If there is still water coming out of the radiator then you haven't fully closed off the radiator valves on either side.

Your heating is probably going off due to a drop in pressure where the radiator is leaking....

Change the radiator....!!! Get a plumber....
