Slow moving aircraft heading over Dunboyne this morning?

I left my house in westmeath at about 7:20am heading to Dublin and when I got past Kinnegad I saw some lights in the sky. Two white lights with coloured flashing lights in between. It was very low in the sky and I thought it was a helicopter. I took the old N4 by the way, not the motorway.

As I got closer to Dublin, some time after Enfield I could make out that it was a plane rather than a helicopter. The white lights were at the wing tips.

As I approached Dunboyne I caught up with it so that I drove underneath it for a moment. At this point I did not have a good enough view to tell what sort of plane it was but it looked like a large passenger or maybe cargo jet as opposed to a propeller based plane. Odd that in a car I caught up with it. It was very low flying over Dunboyne.

Then as I left the M3 and entered the Damastown turn off (about 8:20), taking the new link road to Ballycoolin, I was underneath it again. It seemed to be heading towards the airport. Still very low and slow moving. The colouring and logo looked like it could have been Aer Lingus.

Maybe it was nothing strange at all and that is just its flight path, I just found it strange that I followed it from Westmeath and caught up with it. For most of the trip I always could see it in the corner of my eye except when lost in some trees or going around a bend so I am sure it was the same aircraft I kept seeing. Unless it was circling the airport waiting for a slot or something.

I can't say how low it was exactly but it looked about the height a plane would be when landing at the airport when it was over Ballymun say.... Low enough to see the landing gear etc, but this was over Dunboyne when I had the best view and the landing gear was not out and it was not all that close to the airport yet.

I can't see what happened this morning. Great site by the way so thanks for linking to it.
If you have an account can you see if a plane flew from Westmeath, and ended up flying over Dunboyne around that time? Just curious.

Never mind I see how I can do it myself

** Looks like it was flight EIN231 I first saw. That site shows exactly the path I saw. Then when I got to Dunboyne it was EIN 10X I saw. That explains why it was so slow, it was different planes coming in on the same flight path :D
EIN 10X Came in from the north east and curved around on the same flight path as EIN231 so it looked like the same plane.

    Mystery solved thanks.
