The poll above splits those paying rent from those paying mortgages for the first time.

Last year's results are here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055786512

Talk to the local Community Welfare Officer (usually located in the local health centre).

The new tax rates affected what I would have answered last month. Now at 20% instead of 15%.

Think I voted in rent not mortgage.

My mortgage is 42% of net income. I pay on my own.

I have been lucky the way things went over the years. With fixed rate ending and getting a tracker. The timing was just about right. Just Luck.
It was, and could have been a lot higher.

    Hi,

Just wondering if the responses to the polls take into account the additional costs associated with buying a house like house insurance, income protection, life assurance, etc?

    Presumably not?

To be honest this poll has given me some assurance in terms of what my outgoings will be (38% including the abovementioned costs and including the tax releif) but not sure thats a good thing!

    Cheers,

    D.
