Buses from Galway to Headford.

Hi,

I was just woundering if anyone knows of a bus route that will get someone from galway to headford after 17:40 which seems to be the last one for bus eireann. I am thinking of moving to headford from westport with my girlfriend. I will be able to drive to westport but she works in galway sometimes finishing after 6 or 7. there seems to be no options available for that time mon - fri.

If anyone knows of a company that covers this route at around these times it would be very much appreciated!

Headford to Galway, Bus Eireann wise it's usually the Ballina or Cong route...

Only Other bus that goes through there is Burkes Bus...or at least it was a few years ago...

if I was you I'd try advertising in shops in Headford for someone to get a lift with...or get a car on the cheap

Burkes bus does a daily run from Ballinrobe - Galway. Bus leaves Ballinrobe around 7 or 7:30 (sorry can't remember exactly) and leaves Galway at 5:30 in the evening. Probably no good to you. On Thursdays and Fridays there might be either Walshs Coaches (from Westport) or Morans (Westport?) which leave after six. These buses usually cater to students returning to Castlebar/Westport. I'm out of the bus loop a couple years so my info could be wrong though...

In any case, Headford is a nice spot and Campbells Tavern is one of the best music pubs in the country.

Apart from Fri and Sun nights when there's a later bus at either 8 or 9 ish, that's the latest bus from Galway to Headford .The only other option Burke's bus' last bus to Headford leaves at half five.

Just an idea but you could put a notice up in Joyces supermarket in Headford and see if you could share a lift, someone would be glad of a contribution towards petrol. Hopefully you will be lucky with this. M. R.
