Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Health Insurance - Going Travelling

    I am in the process of planning to leave Ireland for at least a year,

    I've been with VHI since I was born and I am wondering what is the best way to handle health insurance while out of the country ?

    Should I cancel it and take out a travel insurance package that has health insurance included ?
    Or do I take out health insurance in Australia when I get there ?

    Is there any point in continuing to pay the approx €900/year to VHI while I am out of the country ?

    Appreciate any help or advice on this,
