P21 Based on incorrect info

    Hi there

I was entering my remuneration and taxation details on the PAYE "Anytime" site last night for my two employments as part of a request for a P21 balancing statement, but somehow cleverly managed to enter the details in the wrong fields, so the figures are correct and were taken from the "cumulatives this employment" section on my December payslips for both employments, but the pay and tax details for employment 1 were entered for employment 2 and vice versa.

Today I received a P21 stating that I have overpaid by 700 euros and this will be paid into my current account. Their calculation only seems to consider cumulative earnings, not how they are allocated to multiple employments, so I don't know if it makes much of a difference, but I guess I should correct it with them anyway.

I'm just wondering what to do here?

If I'm reading the above correctly, it doesnt matter as your tax liability for the year will be calculated on an overall basis and not by individual employments.

Essentially it doesnt matter so long as the overall figures are correct and you're not being paid a refund that they may come back looking for at some stage in the future.

Yes my thoughts exactly, unless the accountants made a bung up in which case i may have to revisit the issue! Do they automatically issue you a new P21 when your employer sends the revenue your P60 for the previous year?

Your employer does not send the Revenue your P60 - an employer submits a P35 showing details for all their employees for the particular year.

You have to request a P21 yourself.
