This is a team event so you have to be a member of your county team to play in it.

Man they really gotta consider moving this tournament around. Breaffy every year, honest to God the drive from Laois would put you off, never mind Waterford

Go where there is sponsorship i wud think is the only answer to that, or if you were as cynical as me pal, go where they get a few quid for there back pockets.

Simple thing is, its a joke, end of.

The INDO are running a huge event here, and who is it about, certainly not the players.

No singles event, no doubles, how hard is it to run a team event, plenty of boards, loads of time, but still cant manage it. Expect players to play at there best from 11 o clock saturday morning, till god knows what time the "Playoffs" kick off at saturday night.

They should be ashamed of themselves, but as long as lads will travel to it, they will keep doing it. Players only have themselves to blame

Dont support em, and things might change

Well I know of a few county boards actively considering abandoning it. There are other more accessible inter county events that are run better!

Surely they could get sponsorship from a midlands location

Theres a singles on the Friday night. Always is, its non ranked cause the rankings dont start until after the all Irelands.

In defence of the INDO, from what I saw last year and I watched every dart Mayo threw, the playoffs and the final day, the groups were finished at a decent dinner time Most teams played between around 72-90 legs in that time.

than their was an evening session for the non-winners to make the last 8 which didn't start for a good 2+ hours. They had a fair break. If the INDO removed this they'd say "we need a break". If they ran it the next day players would complain that the final wouldn't finish till late at night and they had to stay an extra night in a hotel in Mayo or wherever the venue was and were out of pocket. This is a situation the INDO can't win in fairness.

The Sunday started early as well but it was done and dusted at a good time. One of very few INDO comps I have attended and thought was run smoothly and even though there was many other faults I couldn't find fault with the scheduling.

There was talk this year of it moving to Kilkenny around these parts but I guess Breaffy stumped up the cash again.

It only suits the group winners padr.

The 6 seconds place teams play down to 2 after the groups, so you could end up playing 2 matches again.

We played one year, ended up losing to Cork, it was nearly 1 oclock on Sunday morning when that game finished.

These were their last 3 efforts.

A tip for you : dont hold your breath waiting for any of the above information.

    this.

The current ranking you'll never see unless you go to tournaments.

As for ranking points I think its 6 possible from the all ireland. 1 from every group game you play and 1 for every win.

I think for half ranked it is 1pt for last 8, 2 for last 4. Not sure for the finalists but I think its 3pts and 6 so i'd imagine full ranked is double. Dunno though cause theres no where to read this.

As for qualification I think the top 12 make the masters or are at least supposed to but I dunno. Saw one player play in the ladies world masters who i've never seen throw a dart at any indo competition.

Just out of interest what counties would be considered favourites this year? I hear Dublin have a decent squad but then again they always have but never do the business as with most Dublin county teams but sure there's always this year!!! I'd imagine Cork would be strong along with Kilkenny. Any other counties? Are Donegal as strong as they were, Mayo,Kildare? Haven't really read into the darts the past two years to really know if things have changed!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 945 ✭✭✭padr81

Imho Donegal and Cork as always. Kilkenny seem to have a massive team, Mayo are stronger than the last few years too. Meath are pretty good and Dublin made semi's last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 206 ✭✭vindaloo1

Donegal, Mayo, Dublin, Meath, Kerry, Wexford, Cork, Kilkenny all strong.

All depends on the draw and which team/players show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 121 ✭✭mussha

dublin , meath, kilkenny and wexford are all playin in the lenisters tomoro should make for great day of darts..

as for the all irelands the darts boards used are a discrace, the draw done behind closed doors, venue was locked last year when we arrived to go in sat mornin when did open wasnt set up. but its all ok few people with silly jackets tryin to be somebody felt important.

Thats the first ranking list actually published in near 2 yrs, as for the youths, they are just there to make the place look a small bit more respectable at events held in run down hotels.

i agree fully with you dicie, but it is bad form to treat any body like they do the youths,do they not realise that when the present men are finished playing who will they have if they keep doing this to the up and coming youth

did anyone here anything about breffy house going into recievership and does that mean there will be no bar staff next week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 945 ✭✭✭padr81

it'll be fine. Breaffy have known it was coming for ages and it'll be fine. They'll still be open for the World Cup never mind the All Irelands. They're booking as normal, All Mayo rankings will be there too.

Best of luck to all counties competing today and tomorrow in Castlebar. It would be appreciated if someone could post results on here or possibly know of a link to results however this is highly unlikely with the INDO been involved!

The past few years my local radio station in Cork gave the results of the Cork teams so hopefully that will be the the case again this weekend.

Donegal are probably going to win again this year. I'm sure they'll get the "draw" they'll be looking for. Also alot of teams weakened this year because people are finally getting so sick snd tired of the INDO that they are simply not going.

Hoping Laois have a good run this year. We were unlucky last year, and after running a cracking singles league this year to get ready, made the Leinster semi's! Would love to see them make a breakthrough.

Ladies too, they've put a lot of work in and would love to see it rewarded

No bother Dicie. Nothing yet on the local radio station but hopefully on the 6 00 sports news we might get something.

Just on the local radio sports news. The Cork ladies have qualified for tomorrow's quarter finals. In the mens group Cork drew with Meath 6-6,beat Westmeath 7-5 and are currently playing Sligo and require a big win to avoid a late night tonight playing in the play offs.

4-3 up vs sligo, they have to win 9-3 to avoid the play offs

Anybody up there with results and a smart phone handy ??

As far as I know Cork are in the playoffs lads.

Donegal topping there group and Longford coming second.

Wexford are looking impressive. 11-1 winners against Kerry, 10-2 against Waterford and 8-4 against Mayo (from 4-2 down). Mayo are in the playoffs after 9-3 (waterford) and 10-2 (kerry) wins.

Not sure about the others but I think Roscommon are there.

Mayo 5-0 up against Longford in the playoffs.
If they win they face Dublin or Kilkenny in another playoff, KK getting through as one of best 3rd places.

Thanks to the people on here for posting scores and results on the games but in reality surely the INDO could have a site to show the results and scores of games from Castlebar,it can't be that difficult to do!

Well done to Galway but I'm sure the Cork team will be disappointed, they were expecting to reach the semis at least. Galway face a tough battle against Donegal but after beating Cork their confidence will be up and they could cause a shock here.

Galway v Donegal should be a good match. I wonder who else thtu. How are my neighbours Limerick doing ??

    No Quinn
    No O Shea
    No Sproat
    No Kavanagh
    No Cochoran

Thats 5 of the starting 6 or 7 there...... Thats gotta hurt

I didn't realise that those players were not part of the county set up any more. Any reason why they opted out of the county team?
