Just coming back from a few weeks rest after I got a case of shin splints (not asking for med advice don't worry :D) I'd like any recommendations for a pair of decent running shoes between about 40-50 euro.

I'd prefer to buy them in Dublin but if I'd get a better deal online that's fine too.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .

Have a look at the thread about Elverys http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056127500&highlight=elverys

There appears to be some good deals there

You're best seeking advice from someone who knows what they're talking about, and it's worth spending double what you're proposing on that advice & a suitable running shoe.

Places that do Gait Analysis and have informed staff is important (who run!). Elverys have good deals but for the most part their staff are clueless.

Runways & Amphibian King get mentioned most on here (I've been to neither)

Choosing the right shoe is probably the most important decision you'll make for running.

I'd like to invest in a pair in that price range ... at the same time though I don't know if I do enough jogging atm to warrant that sort of price.... hmmm decisions

I'll definitely check out runways. Been looking in there lustfully since it opened. Now may be the time to penetrate its entrance.

Thanks again for both of your replies.

Thanks again for both of your replies.

If you can't afford the price of a pair of trainers from a running shop with gait analysis. You can do a self gait analysis here and then look for a cheaper pair of approprite shoes (Neutral, cushioned, support, stability etc).
