Hello, i have a hydraulic winch mounted on a small truck, the winch has been working fine but today when you pull or push the lever to wind it in or out it was slow to move, it had to be pull/push much harder than usual to work it normally and the lever wouldnt automatically go into neutral postion you would have to move it in manually (you could hear it trying to work),
I have no leaks and the hydraulic oil level is fine, i was thinking it could be a sticking valve if so can they be made freed up, all the order hydraulic levers are working fine on the same block.

Anyone had a problem like this and if so how did they sort it??
    Any help appreciated

does the hydraulic pump run anything else, if so are they working fine? Just trying to eliminate the pump. Does it have a filter in the system? If so could be time to change it. Could also be moisture in the hydraulic oil and its freezing due to cold weather, when was the last time the oil was changed, this would be my first thing i would do as its relatively cheap. We had a tractor and for some reason it would get moisture into the hydraulic system and when it was cold it would be very slow to operate
