Referee for this competition will be our clubs head coach, Justin Robbins.

Justin will act as both ref and judge, being in the cage as the fight happens he will have the best view. He is also by far the most experienced man for the job.

will he ref his own students?seems abit unfair if so. Also how many fights would one get?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 188 ✭✭mmmm...not sure

Mate I don't want to put a damper on things but this is the same day as chaos 8 which will take away alot of competitiors and then competitiors that can take part your are only allowing if they have never fought competively before seems a bit strange to me. Also I think you should bring in a neutral ref as will save any arguements of bias should any results be disputed.

Whats up with not allowing fighters that have fought with head strikes before, does this include people that fought ametuer Thai or Boxing or TKD???
What about blue belts, purple belts........??? or Judo guys, they would have more of any advantage than anybody the fought with head stikes in my view.

There is no need to worry, Justin is a professional fighter and out of any one he will be fair. He is a full time MMA coach and fighter so his experience of seeing decisions will shine through on the day. And sure i suppose at the end of the day every one knows some one!

But there is no risk of unfair decisions.

With the sport growing every year this sort of thing is going to happen more and more. Im sure both events will both be very successful

    Barry, we've settled on

If you have had 3 or more c class fights or have fought pro or semi pro
MMA you cannot enter this competition

And if you have 3 or more years experiencefull contact martial arts
(this rule, most people know them selves what level they are at, and this competition is for people at medium level) so its not a strict 3 exact years.

Rather than getting into very specific detail we are trying to have this competition in a friendly mentality.

Every one should come along, its going to be a great day for people into mma, whether to watch or fight

Yeah mate but lads will travel to compete in competitions so saying it far away from derry makes no difference, there was a clash between a chaos show and a show I think in Wexford a while ago and it showed big time with both fighters and crowd attendance

    In fairness everything clashes.

If anything there's not enough of these types of show and too many pro shows.

Yup! We thought it would be cool to have the fights in the cage. Guys at this level dont get alot of opportunities to fight in the cage so it'll be some thing different.

It'll be interesting also to see how people deal with take downs and thing with a cage, theres no risk of rolling off the mat and the fight being restarted

I was asking Chris if Mihal teaches the MMA classes at his gym Dragon's Lair.

CIT is a bit too far out for me.

Well done also to every1 else who competed and organised this event, lets hope there will be alot more of this sort of thing in the future. I'd love to see lads wearing head gear and head shots being aloud maybe a different category??
