I was let go from my job at Christmas which i worked since middle September, but I have some queries regarding rights to pay and other info.

    1. I have never received payslips from the employer, even though I asked and was told that I would get them but they couldn't provide them then due to computer/software problems, still no sign of any.
    2. I was given approx 1-2 hours notice that my job was no longer available and that I should go home for the rest of the day.
    3. I don't seem to have been paid any holiday pay, as I have received no final payment, beyond my last pay check which came thru earlier in the week I was left go. In total i worked 14 weeks with them so I would think I would be due at least 2-3 days holiday pay?

I would appreciate any advice on what agency/legal system would be best to contact as I feel short-changed on many fronts.

Damn right you should feel badly treated. It never ceases to amaze me how some employers can be so ignorantsly when it comes to basic employment rights.

You should have been given, by law a written and signed statement of the basic terms of your employment by your employer within two months of starting work there.

This statement should contain the basic conditions of your employment, such as the expected duration of your employment, periods of notice and methods for determining periods of notice and terms and conditions relating to paid leave.

In addition to this your employer was also obliged by law to issue you with a payslip with every payment of wages.

Also, full-time employees are entitled to one week of paid annual leave for every three months worked, not including public holidays.

The termination of employment by a couple of hours notice was another foul up on your ex-employers' part.

If you have between 13wks to 2yrs employment, you are entitled on one week's minimum notice.

So, who to go to? The National Employment Rights Authority. (NERA) website is www.employmentrights.ie
