Did anybody actually get 1.20 /lb in old money for R grade steers yet? :D

Don't know of anyone selling steers lately but I see the Indo reported prices of 342c/kg equating to 1.22 lb

Just on the issue of pricing (and I'm not having a go blue5000) but is it not a wee bit ridiculous that we are still getting quoted in a currency that ceased to exist more than ten years ago?

We can easily talk about 2 euro a kilo in the mart but for some reason factory agents (and most farmers in my experience) are stuck in the punt time warp.
I honestly thought it would be a thing of the past by now but it seems that we will have it for another ten years at least.

Of course the way things are going we might be back to the punt before too long.

Thanks pharoh, I agree I think it is time to move on from pence per lb. Maybe its still done because there are so many older farmers in the country.

3.50 a kg is a good price. I see on british farmer forum where they were hoping their price was going up, mainly because Irish factories were finished flooding the market with cheap beef.

I don't think we moven from pence per lb to cent/euro per kg because it is a relatively useful was for the factories to confuse people with prices and keep the prices artificially low even when there is high demand for beef.
