    Hi guys,

I have a 1997 Celica 1.8ST. Its an Irish car and im looking for a few bits for it. Im doin it up and want to replace old stuff with new!

Iv priced all the stuff from Toyota and its just crazy money..... The kinda stuff im looking for are, the four front lights, (twin headlight model) rear tail lights, new wiper arms, new fog lights etc.... At this stage im looking for spurious parts because the genuine stuff is just way too dear!

Iv tried Samora.ie and they dont stock them for the Celica, most places dont!!!

Does anyone know of somewhere that stocks stuff like this? Basically all spurious Celica parts???

    Thanks in advance guys. ;)

2nd hand an option, scrapyard, ebay etc ? I wouldn't be pouring money at an old Celica, especially the 1.8 one to be honest.

Edit, just saw the old stuff with new.

Right, I had a 98 SS111 and did a lot to it before I moved it on. Join these sites if you havent done already:

    http://www.celicaireland.com/

    http://www.celica-club.co.uk/

I was a member on both and they are great places to pick up the parts you need or to ask where to get them. Also I got some parts from:

    http://www.tcbparts.co.uk/

Excellent to deal with, and good prices. Hope that helps.

Well there is a sentimental attachment to this car, and anyway, I really like that model Celica. Gettin a full re spray etc done on it too. Just going to have it as a kind of a Sunday car.... and keep it forever, garaged of course.

Could you not have the surface of the lights wet sanded and polished back to new?

I'd to do it with fog lights in the past that had a worn battered surface,
even changing the bulbs to a set of philips +30 changed the colour from a dull yellow to a bright white

wiper arms should be easy to restore too if they've a bit of surface rust,
easy to take off ( on Fords anyway) , a single spray can should have more then enough paint for 3 wiper arms

God ya, I didn't know that could be done with the lights. Do you know anyone doing it?? That would do fine, its just to get them looking new again, you know the way the shine goes off them over time, espically the rear red ones.... I'll restore the wiper arms alright, had considered it already but thought a spurious set would be handy money. They cant be got though. TCB mailed me back too, they dont have any of the stuff new, and they dont know anyone doin it. Just all genuine stuff from Toyota available! Ah well!

Don't know anyone doing it, I did my own lights on the current and the last car,

Apart from the foglights neither were in poor condition compared to some 90's mercs and early Yaris's you see
but still needed attention as it made the car look a lot older then it should

I just kept watching videos online and tried it out on a spare headlight my uncle had in his shed,
I've a polish paste that's reccomended for acrylics and other plastics

the paint too was fading on the Mondeo I've a the min so I used the Dewalt DW849 polisher I bought a few years ago
along with some meguires 3 step kit I have, tried it on the rear lights and it made big difference

even that initial polish made a big difference to the rear lights after spending a little time on them
