Anyone have or had a citroen c4 1.6 hdi or c4 van? Any good or bad feedback or anything to look out for/common faults on this model interior/exterior or under the bonnet? I always hated them but there growing on me now for some strange reason.

    Thanks in advance.

JamBur on here has one (Petrol). Mechanic friend had one, general concensus is that they're the first of the new reliable Citroens and pretty good overall.

Electrics aren't a problem on newer model Citroens, AFAIK those mileage claims are about right. Impressive stuff.

Ok thanks, One to consider anyway! That center console steering might take getting used to though.

I rented one in France last Summer. Not sure if it was a 1.4 or 1.6 diesel. I thought it was horrible to drive. Although that could be because Im not used to Diesel cars.
Fuel economy was amazing though. €24 for the week doing a 1hr each way trip to the airport and on average around 30 miles a day.

    I've an 06 van, 240,000 on it.

It eats headlights, but that realistically is the only problem I have with the electrics. I've broken the glovebox handle twice, thats apparently a known fault too.

Otherwise, its never sat down on me, its been treated rough enough and its never failed.

I'd get 800-900km from a tank but I drive fairly hard; over 1000 wouldn't be unrealistic at all. Generally the display shows 1080km range on a full tank if I've been doing normal driving, I've had it display 1720km after some enforced slow driving in the slipstream of a truck on the A5 in the north...

I will add that my employer has had two have HG failures, both well north of 200,000km on the clock and poorly maintained - they were based in the west and the south and generally our non-Dublin based staff rarely get servicing done, mine is in every 15-18,000km.

Are they tricky to fit the bulbs in the c4? The van I have at the moment is tricky as the whole headlight has to be removed to change bulb :( ....€80 bob is a fair bit....At the moment Im doing 880km to €55 diesel.

"Easily" accesible from the engine bay, just lift out a plastic airflow guide and pull off a rubber cover. Takes about 10mins to get the drivers side and 5 the passengers side.

I've a fuel card so I pay relatively little attention to the mileage I'm getting, probably much the annoyance of the accountants in work. I think its doing about 850 on average, but I've not done accurate clock-checks.

I've a 2010 C4 1.6 110 BHP. It gets approx 1000km to a tank (€60ish to fill). No reliability issues at all with 12,000km on the clock.

    I've a 2005 90bhp 1.6 diesel. Happy with it, comfortable to drive.

Agree on the headlights, always seem to be going. Thought it was just my car :)
