    Hello People.

So i finally bought my first car (yippee ). Its a 2003 yaris. Now i need a good navigator to help me around the city and occasionally outside Dublin. I wont be using it outside Ireland.

Can you guys suggest me some good makes? I have spend the last 2 days trying to figure out which one to buy. I know Garmin and TOmTom are the best manufacturers but i am not sure which model to buy. I dont mind the price if i know that the product is good, fast and long lasting. I intend to use the navigator on my next car too ( which i hope will be bought next year).

Please advice me on what model to buy.

    Thanks in advance.

Tomtom One...I've only used these and a few Garmins, and I found the Garmins rubbish

The only problem I've had with TomTom is actually in Dublin City...Very slow to respond, which I believe was a satellite problem. There is a patch you download and put on the Tomtom and it makes it respond much quicker to your driving.

Tomtom all the way for me.

TomTom mapping of Ireland is pretty poor though. I had a Garmin Nuvi 205W upto recently and found it great.

OP, you might get a better recommendation in the Sat Nav forum.
