UK Classic Car Shows

Having been to Silverstone & Santa Pod countless times over the last few years for single make and more modern car shows , a group of us went to the Bromley show last summer for something wth some more interest. It was by far the best show I've ever been to, but as we flew over we were very limited in what we could buy / bring back from the auto jumble and trade stands.

So we've decided that we will go again this year , but we'll drive over this time. It's a hell of a drive so I wonder if anybody else knows of any other equally as good or better shows in the UK which would be closer to Holyhead / Fishguard , and when they are on ?

Here is another very good show and quite easy to get to with direct flights from Shannon to Paris.
    RETROMOBILE 2011 2nd.- 6th of February.

It's not that much of a drive (but then again I'm sort of immune to mileage)

Depends on what floats your boat so to speak. General, american, commercial, Retro, custom, kit, autojumble, etc.

    Tatton Park in June perhaps?

Bromley Pageant is right up with the best and worth the journey...share the driving or book a travelodge....

Looking for General vintage / classic really with a nice bit of autojumble / trade stalls thrown in. Will check out Tatton Park anyway, thanks.

swansea cork ferrry in that case would make a difference as instead of paying for the travelodge, you get a cabin both ways and sleep the night away....200 miles less each way too over Rosslare.

Hi, its the same for me, if I fly to a show I'm very limited in what I can bring home on the plane which sometimes is good in my wifes eyes...lol Anyway as mentioned above the Retromobile is excellent which I'm going to this year by Ryanair and another show I'm doing is The Bristol Classic Car Show in April, again I'm flying, but its about a five hour drive from Holyhead to Bristol.
The NEC in November is excellent and last year the Irish Vintage Scene Magazine offered a serivce that they would bring home to Ireland any parts purchases made at the show so long as they were massive.
Dont forget Beaulieau Motor Mart in May and Autojumble in Sept.
There is a great show in Essen Germany in Nov/Dec which I did a few years ago, 14 massive halls of cars, jumble etc... next time I go to this I'll bring a 40ft container...lol.
Every April there is a French Show on in Reims which is heaven if you like old French Cars, fly Ryanair to Beauvais and about an hour's drive with the foot to the mat.
I hope this is of some help to you.
    YEAH!

Yeah used to have one , but had to (very reluctantly) give it up a few years ago when I got a company car cause it was costing too much to just look at it in the yard... still miss it ...:(
