    Hey all,

I was practicing today and one of my band mates had the wonderful idea of moving my Boss ME-50B will playing. Anywho the power went on the pedal and I tried some batteries instead and they worked, meaning the plug is fried.

Now I just think it's the fuse but, here's the problem, I don't know where to find the fuse on the plug? Anyone have insight?

    Cheers!

    Hi,

Its most likely one of two things

Either the power transformer shorted and has blown, these are sealed units but are cheap to replace or the power input socket is damaged or the soldering has broken from being pulled. Its should be an easy fix but if its the socket you will need to open it up and solder on a new one.

    Cheers

And both of these fixes are to do with the plug only, not the pedal?

The power input plug is on the pedal, so best to try another power adaptor first and if thats not whats wrong the pedal will have to be opened to test.

I'd check the soldering on the board where the DC connector plug is. They're usually not up to scratch on the Boss units and a gentle bit of pulling will lift it up from the board. A quick reflowing of the existing solder will sort it in no time.

Sound job lads! So PaintDoctor your saying just where the AC adapter goes into the pedal board is where I may need to solder? Sorry for the clueless questions :pac:
