hey guys, I'm going to up grade my mixer very soon an seriously thinking about the American dj vms4 but have been told by some suppliers that the brand is not great quality.. not sure if hercules is much better! but both these units are exactly what i want as i am going to switch to vdj7.
any1 have experience or opinions of these brands??? or is tere another controler im over looking??
    thanks..

i'd go with the vms4 as it also doubles up as an analog mixer

    +1 for the VMS 4.

I Have a Hercules RMX since release almost and I find there is not enough rotaries on it for my liking, although the build quality is damn good especially considering the price ... VMS4 looks ever more robust (weighs almost 10kg !)

The 4mx is almost the same unit, just adds 4 deck capability which is already available with some creative mapping, and the "touch sensitive" jogs, which are not really touch sensitive, but a pressure switch.

The VMS4 on the other hand has the analogue mixer functionality, which IMHO is essential as a backup (plug in yer phone headphone jack), more knobs (yay! I could ditch the second controller), & looks better.. the jogs are apparently the dogs nuts too.

It has as about much function as an S4 (apart from Scratch pro certification)... and at half the price.. There was a guy on DJTT that was touring Asia with one at 1000+ capacity venues and found it great... once the new version of traktor comes out it'll rock with the sampler Im guessing.

VMS4 appears to be a very good mid level controller. There was some debate over the sound quality, but its definitely acceptable. As the others have said, the fact that its also a full mixer is great.

    Try these sites

    http://www.thomann.de/

    http://www.htfr.com/

You should have no problems with these sights. Thomann seems to be about 100 euro cheaper though including shipping.

is there all that much difference between the vsm 4 and the traktor S4?

hoping to up grade myself in the next 3 months and just wondering is it worth the extra stretch for the s4?

i currently use a herc rmx and it has become far too limiting for what I want to do,

I have a couple of residencys in clubs and do a good few "underground" gigs and have decided a change is in order

    VSM4 OR S4?
