If it's not too far out of the way, there's a little car park out near the Texaco close to Barna Woods that's never occupied during the day. I don't know the opening hours but it's great for turning and reversing in particular.

I've seen loads of people learning in Glasan. It's absolutely dead at the weekends.

Across from the GMIT. She's right it's always dead at weekends. You probably don't want to drive at night but Dunnes Stores car park or the factorys type places like HP in Ballybrit empty out at night..

Don't think they start back until the 10th. I have seen quite a few of the lovable scamps around the place though. Although that could be me jumping to conclusions based on the appearance of people which would be wrong of me, wouldn't it...

if it's during the week that's a bit tougher. Most of the car parks would be full..Just off the top of my head, there's a bit of space down in St Marys but maybe not enough for a learner. There is a large cul de sac down Bothar an Choiste on the Headford Road that is empty. I think the bus goes down there every once in a while to turn..not sure though. Could be worth a go.

Don't think you're going to get anywhere in the city during the day, thats safe to bring a learner.
Mervue Industrial Estate is great on Sunday mornings, as its quiet and there's a good long straight with no speed bumps, behind Nortel/SAP building.

Stick with the industrial estates, Ballybrit and Ballybane would be perfect really. Don't come to NUIG, that was a silly suggestion, any sort of driving here is a complete chore and the majority of other road users in the vicinity have no idea how to operate their machines either.
    Take care :)

Claregalway Corporate Park? You'd get away with it there, the industrial estate is pretty much empty as such.

maybe not ideal but silverstrand? it's not far from town, about 4km, it's pretty big and you can be sure it'll be quiet midweek during daylight hours!:D

there's some estates in newcastle and knocknacarra that are spacious and quiet I can recommend some if you like, car parks wouldn't be great during the day IMO

housing estates are good, preferably ones where you can turn with ease.
