baretta 686/687 silver pigeon.....the cynergie is a lovely gun but if you are going to bring it into the field there are just too many places muck will get ,my advice is go for a silver pigeon

Ya agree with that, a Beretta all the way, I recently bought a Beretta SV10 Perennia, it is fitted with the "Kick Off recoil pad", It states that this reduces "Felt Recoil" by 60% I can assure you that it does exactly that. lovely field gun, and good for the bit of clay shooing.

Always found the Brownings very Bulky, the Beretta is very sleek

i have 686e and find it gets heavy if your doin alot of walking, bought aya 400 S/S for e1 its light as a feather,

Have used 682 and s687. s687 is a sporter and more game orientated, lovely handling o/u, will do fine for sporting clays, 682 may be more suited for DTL, but if game is your main pursuit. Look no further than s687. Not sure what price they are s/h but I would imagine there probably like hens teeth. Same as deerhunter, find the Berettas nicer handling gun, not gone on Brownings personally, for no other reason than I just prefer Berettas but each to their own. Good luck with purchase.

baretta extrema 2;) need i say more

As a man shooting a Beretta 391 urika in the field, I would probably go for a silver pigeon.

In saying that if I was changing the clay gun Id go for a Browning 525 or xs. I like the chunkier feel to the clay guns and brownings are chunkier than the Berettas.

On an aside there is no way in Gods creation I would use a gun that cost me the price of a small car, to do rough shooting.:D

hey terminator , i love the look of the xtema 2 but isnt that a semi ? love the black but wont be welcomed to clay club with a semi:eek: that is why im thinking cynergy black ice because its got the black and can b used for hunting and clays but just cant get info from anyone that has one so going to wait until i get some info before i spend d cash:D

no recoil off that extrema.......a good few lads shooting semi autos at clays these days

Was Duck shooting with one today, mother of god what a gun :D Can take some fairly hefty sized cartridges too for foxes. Put in a cartridge that was over 3 and a quarter inch I think not too sure and little recoil.

Not suited for clays though imo, very long I think and the semi part doesnt go down well in most club grounds.

The mate that owned it said that he dont ming using it rough shooting, and its easily maintained and very durable synthetic on the exterior. Fine gun I think, its converting me towards semi :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 66 ✭✭twin27

ya i love d synthetic but still prefer the o/u so that is why im thinking black ice. saying that ive never shot a semi nor prob wont get the chane to as i dont know anyone with one so prob stick to what i know:)

i have the cyenergy sporter for clays. love it and will never sell it. think to much of it to pull it through hedges tho. have beretta s.a. for rough shooting.

there you have it ,if you want a cynergie buy plenty of cotton wool, and if you want a real gun buy a beretta, and spunk84 ide rather have my left nut than a cynergie,.....Beretta Rules.....:D:D

I bought a twenty gauge cynergy pro sporter about eighteen months ago, i've used it for two seasons now and feel really confident with it. Its a light enough gun for a days shooting and is great for clays, may very well be worth a look.

i use a beretta 686s and a beretta a400 so i would have to recomend the silver pigeon. the silver pigeon is also cheaper.
the cynergy feels great but i dont like the inflex recoil pad as i find it bounces in the shoulder with heavy game loads 36gms+

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4 Stevokirwan

Fair enough point about the recoil pad my cynergy has a timber stock, the one problem i find is the heaviest load i can get is 32 gram in 6's, heavy enough for a twenty gauge i suppose, difficult to get sometimes. Need to be ordered from my dealer. If you like shooting heavier loads you would be pissin against the wind with my gun. Funny enough i dont feel the 12 gauge cynergy the way i do the twenty.

well il tell you beretta are the best as have a extrema2 and use it all round for wildfowling to rough shooting and for clays great gun and i think it was a steal at the money

NO! i,d shoot with the browning over the beretta any day. not knocking beretta, they are not the longest running company in the world for nothing!
but the beretta set me back 450e. the cynergy cost near 3k. thats the only reason it only comes out on a clay ground

i would go for the Silverpigeon in 20. fantastic gun.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4 Stevokirwan

My first gun was a twenty berretta silver pigeon, beautiful gun, game scene engraving nice weight the works, but the ****er just didnt fit, strained my right wrist slightly and just couldnt pop it up comfortably. got the cynergy twenty after that. fell off a ditch last week and broke the stock. browning want seven hundred bob for a stock getting one custom made for three fifty. is'nt that mental.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 672 ✭✭✭ace86

hey just new to this but i saw a browning cynergy black ice in my local dealer one night it was his own but i thought it was a fantastic gun. Probably a very expensive gun for rough shooting but it has a syntectic stock and lock and it beats marking a timber one crossing ditches and things.

2011 shot show special for $1795. I have a 26" field gun, nicks and all. it is great, points fast, and breaks plenty of clays at the range.

    All black

im in the process of getting a cynergy - traded a silver pigeon III for it - previously advertised here - to be honest its all about what your going to use it for and how it feels. i only shoot clays, so weight is not to important, hitting the targets is !! If your in the north wexford area "pm" me will let you know the dealer that has it

ps: lots of nuts getting traded here! scary

East coast dog and gun perhaps, i once did my business there but got pissed off. A guy in camolin is whom i deal with now, genuine guy, and in my opinion more reasonably priced.
