    hey all,anyone use winter pads? if so re they a success have seen a few lately and to be honest they looked pretty messy,cows standing in 2 feet of sh:eek::eek:t,is there a proper spec to work off to get drainage right so as not to be so wet.thanks...

    The dept will have proper specs or teagasc or private adviser will be able to point you in the right direction. I was thinking of doing one but the storage requirement for the slurry was just frightening so i put it off. As to cattle in sh:mad::mad:e, maybe the ones you saw werent managed properly ie correct stocking rate, feeding points, replacement of the chips, correct chips etc. Go to someone who is useing it for a while before you judge as they do have a place in the correct situation IMO
