Still waiting for CDWOW

    Hi,

I ordered a Christmas CD as a Christmas present for a friend on Cdwow.ie 10 days before Christmas, and as of today's post it still hasn't arrived. Because their domain was .ie I wrongly assumed it was an Irish company and assumed the item would be shipped from Ireland or the UK. Apparently they ship from Hong Kong, but this isn't apparent from their website. On their website it says "UK - 5 to 7 days from despatch", "Germany, Austria and Switzerland - 4 to 6 days from despatch". The item was listed as in stock and I immediately received a mail saying it was shipped, but now 20 days later and it still isn't here. I've now checked their returns policy and it says: CD WOW! will only accept returns for the following: Goods damaged or faulty prior to delivery, Goods supplied incorrectly, Goods that vary from their description on the website. I sent an email about the item and they replied "The majority of orders arrive well within a week, though we kindly ask all of our customers to allow up to a maximum of 21 days for an order to be delivered from the date of dispatch."

Well first off, I want to let everyone who doesn't already know to stay away from CDWOW, I had used them a few years ago and never had any problems, but apparently they have gone downhill and shouldn't be used!

Since it's too late to give it as a Christmas present and mid January will be too late to listen to Christmas music I'd like to send it back for a full refund. Since I now know they aren't an EU company, they probably aren't required to comply with any EU laws. Do I have any other recourse?

21 days will be tomorrow, so re-contact them then, say it hasn't arrived, and request a refund.

If they don't refund, and you paid with a credit card, contact your bank and ask about a charge back for non receipt of purchase. If you paid with Laser, you can't do this I'm afraid, and Laser offers no buyer protection.

I ordered an Xbox game from them in November which wasn't dispatched until 8th December. As of today, it still hasn't arrived. I emailed them today and got a quick response. They wanted details of the full delivery address again and want me to check with the local post office first! My postman always leaves a notice if the parcel isn't delivered so there's no way it was brought back to the sorting office by the postman. I hope to get a full refund from them, as this stage I don't trust them to send me a replacement. My order was for a Christmas present also but luckily I can use it for the same person as their birthday is in January. I not optimistic that it's going to arrive though. I used to use cdwow all the time when they started first and they were fantastic. I wish I had read some of the negative comments on the web about their delivery now before I placed the order last November!

I have been using CDWOW for years, and must have ordered about 50 dvds/cds over the years and have only had 1 issue with them, and in fairness to them they sorted it out fairly quick. I didn't receive the cd in the time I should have and I contacted them, they then send a replacement which I received in maybe about 10 days, and of course I then received the missing cd a couple of days later!!. I haven't bought anything of them in maybe about 10 months now, as I find Play and amazon to be cheaper.

    Hello,

Thanks for all the posts and advice. As of today, it still hasn't arrived. After 21 days I emailed them and a day later they got back to me requesting details of the full delivery address again and requested me to check with my local post office first. I did all this and got back to them yesterday and today they replied back asking me to wait another 3 days, as of now it's 27 days so in 3 days it will be a full month. I wonder if they'll ask me to wait another 3 days after that. I'm also very upset, for if it does arrive in the next 3 days what happens, it's already 6 days past their maximum delivery time and way past any reasonable time and most importantly way past Christmas. I wonder if it'll arrive in time for Christmas 2011!!

Good news for me today, the game actually arrived in the post! So I ordered in November, they posted it on 8th Dec and it arrived on 11th Jan, 34 days after it was posted. They emailed me yesterday to offer a refund or replacement but I didn't see their email until today, and was able to advise that the game arrive. You should be able to get a refund. Next time I recommend that you use asda entertainment or play as they both have free delivery and fantastic service. I won't be using cdwow again.

Still hasn't arrived and it's been a month now. I emailed CDWOW demanding a refund and here's their latest reply:

"I would like to inform you that we are getting many replies from our customers that they are now receiving the orders which were delayed in the post due to the festive season.

Therefore, I request you to wait until weekend for the parcel to be delivered to you. Should you not receive your order by this time, please get back to us and we will do our best to investigate this further."

What a pack of **** and as before if I wait a few more days and it still doesn't arrive, their reply will be the same, wait a few more days!!!!!!!

    Never again!!!:mad::(

Ah CDWow. What a shower. I ordered a CD and DVD on December 14th. The CD finally arrived in the first week of January but by the 12th there was still no sign of the DVD. I emailed them and got a reply asking me to (a) check the post office, (b) ask your neighbours if they have it (c) keep waiting.
On the 13th they said that they were expecting the parcel to be delivered within the next few days.
On the 18th I told them that I'd waited long enough and wasn't going to wait any longer. I asked for a refund for the DVD that never was. I have my money back and will be spending it on Amazon instead.
If they can't honour orders they shouldn't take them. I'll never go near them again!
