ITV has confirmed that Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff will join Britain's Got Talent as judges for the next series.
The pair will appear on the panel alongside the returning Amanda Holden when the series comes to ITV in 2011. Simon Cowell will not be present for the auditions but will reprise his role for the live stages.
Elaine Bedell, ITV Director of Entertainment and Comedy, said: “Michael has established himself as one of the biggest names in comedy and entertainment in this country and, as someone who made his big breakthrough on the Royal Variety Performance, he knows exactly the pressures facing the acts on Britain’s Got Talent."
Of his new role, McIntyre said: “I'm a massive fan of Britain's Got Talent and am extremely excited to be a judge on the new series. I was so thrilled when Simon Cowell asked me that I immediately wanted to run in to Ant and Dec's arms to celebrate!”
Actor and television personality Hasselhoff previously served on the judging panel for NBC series America's Got Talent from 2006 to 2009.
“As an actor, singer and producer, David Hasselhoff has been immersed in show business for many years," said Bedell. "Alongside Michael, Amanda and of course Simon Cowell, he is a great addition to the judging panel for 2011.”
Ant and Dec will continue to present the hit show.

Lulu Walsh will be filling in for Hoff in some shows also

I'm looking forward to seeing Michael McIntyre too.

The show itself has turned into a dance troop contest and a singing competition, I am hoping for more variety this year.

I love it meself to be honest. The chap that interviews backstage is annoying though

I heard a lot of the people on it were pretty poor more so this year so they went to the internet looking for more acts to invite to take part on the show.

I'll shift this over to Reality TV.. and merge with the existing thread.

I'm actually looking forward to it as I quite like Michael McIntyre. Don't get me wrong - he can be very annoying, but he also can be a very funny guy.

It's just unfortunate that the dullard Holden is still there, and Hasselhoff - really?

I hear there's a guy called Michael Collins tipped as the new SuBo.
Wouldn't be the first time he blew the British away. Har har har.

....sorry..... But just think of all the potential jokes if he won it :P :o

Mr Hall was very good! thought he was going to be crap when he came out - but was excellent, load of different songs! And the act with the dogs - unbelievable control over them!

Loving Michael McIntyre, ah I can't buzz them and then the guy he does buzz, walks off stage! Hilarious! Enjoying these auditions much more than last years ones!

Aye, make him sing songs that don't suit or turn up some crap about him in the papers just for the sake of muck-raking and sales.

Some of the people on tonight were hilarious, the drama teacher and the old man and his grand daughter and the impersonator,i enjoyed them. The dancer was excellent.
Its looking alot better this year more diverse and entertaining.:D

I'm loving this show so far.

I used to think Michael McIntyre was really annoying, but I've really warmed to him now.

    I love his hyperness :D

As I've said before, people are too quick to judge Michael McIntyre.

They can simply dismiss him as being a camp hyperactive arse.. but he's incredibly witty and likeable.

He's very well-known but he'll definitely get a lot more fans after this.

On tonight's show - the impressionist was decent, and the final guy was very good.

Much prefer the way the shows are this year - we are seeing more of the good acts and less of the shockingly bad acts, which I found very annoying last year! Its 50 mins of entertainment now, rather than having maybe two talented acts per show and the rest being boring.

Just watching last nights episode - some fantastic talent there, loved all the acts, especially enjoyed Les the impersonator and the Matrix dancer. The granddad and granddaughter were lovely as well - that drama teacher was fantastic as well!! Haven't enjoyed the show this much in a while tbh!

Is there noone else tuning in tonight?

The college lads are quite good, the lead guy is the image of George Osbourne.

The boy Ronan absolutly amazing tonight i see him going very far

I liked the little girl at the start with the snake and the poem about saving animals from extinction. Loved the camera panning to Amanda Holden for the line about not using snakes as handbags.

As real talent goes, I though last nights episode was a waste of time.
The little girl was cute and she will get votes for that but not a winning or even entertaining act.
The boy at the end as good but in a few years, his voice will crack so game over for him sadly.

So far sadly this year, genuine acts that could be called anyway 'lasting material' is few and far between.
No wonder the shows producers put out an appeal at one stage for more acts to try out and they went to You-tube again for material to fill the airwaves.

I dont regularly watch this, just caught the episode this evening... Adding Michael McIntyrne is brilliant.. He's very funny, without being cruel...

That Mulhearn guy is a sarcastic pr1ck though, dont like him at all..

Fair play to Amanda for getting back on the screen after her recent problems..

I liked last night, with Michael McIntyre taking all the toast and marmite off the stage. :D

Pretty poor series though so far, in my opinion. :(

Watched it on Sat - the drummers being voted in afer getiing No's was a total set up. Its what we have come to expect though.

Anyone else notice, that Amanda is stopping the music of some Acts the way Simon did before, not classy at all - there is a buzzer in front of you for a reason.

I don't mind her stopping them when its obvious that they aren't showing their full talent - the ones I saw her stop where much better after she stopped them and got them to sing a different song

That piano guy Paul was fantastic
