I have signed up for my 1st marathon in May (Edinburugh)

The aim is to raise some money for my friend's wife and Kids
(Sadly my friend died in Novemeber)

I tried to set up a sponsorship account on Justgiving.com but you have to select a registered charity.

My question is can you set up a sponsorship account on line that people can pay into without it going directly to a chosen charity ?

I want all the money to go to my friend's wife.

    Thanks

    thanks for the tip.

I'm afraid they only allow you to set up a sponsorship page that is connected to a charity that is registered with them.

Might have to do it the old fashioned way

What a wonderful idea. I hope you raise a lot of money :)

Unfortunately I don't see how you could do it on a conventional charity page without listing a charity (otherwise some people could keep the money for themselves instead of giving it to charity as claimed). Maybe you could set up separate paypal account instead, and get sponsors to send money directly into that.

Thanks, I'll give paypal a go, if it doesn't work I do it the old fashioned way
