    Hey all,

I'm working on a project at the mo and I'm wondering is it possible to download other fonts besides the Microsoft standard ones?

In particular I'm looking for an Elvish font. I have Googled it and found a few sites but am a bit wary of downloading from non legit sources or OH will go spare if I kill his computer with a virus!

If anyone can help it would be really appreciated!!!

font files are rather typical, the most common format is .ttf - heres a list

its a list of file extensions, not of files. One typically likes to know that they will be able to download a .ttf without it trying to take over their system.

I've used free fonts from here before, they come as zip files, containing the font itself (.ttf) and some licence info text files.

    Might be worth a look.

I'd be slow to install an EXE file which claims to be a font ... and you'd be well advised to virus-scan any file you download from the internet.

Thanks Trout, I'll give that site a look and yes I once downloaded an EXE file. Big mess. I'd rather go legit and even pay as opposed to risking anything. Might just wait til he comes home and I've a witness before I try anything!!

PS: I'll assume that any .ttf is safe enough?
