Wigan: Al Habsi, Stam, Gary Caldwell, Alcaraz, Gohouri, Gomez, Thomas, Watson, Diame, Cleverley, Rodallega

Subs: Pollitt, Boselli, Steven Caldwell, McArthur, Lopez, Figueroa, McManaman

Newcastle: Harper, Simpson, Steven Taylor, Coloccini, Jose Enrique, Barton, Nolan, Tiote, Gutierrez, Ameobi, Lovenkrands

Subs: Krul, Williamson, Routledge, Perch, Smith, Best, Ranger

Wigan missing N'Zogbia through suspension although Alcaraz makes it. Wigan without Emmerson Boyce (hamstring) Franco di Santo (ankle) Victor Moses (shoulder), James McCarthy (ankle) and Chris Kirkland (back).

Harper in for Krul, Enrique returns, Lovenkrands in for Smith and Ameobi for the injured Carroll

    looks like 4:4:2 for Newcastle

Can't see an awful lot of goals coming from the front two unless of course we can get some proper delivery in from Barton this time around.

Need some serious improvement from Barton and Tiote especially. Glad to see Harps coming back into the fray too.

Enrique and Nolan are two massive boosts that we badly need. Carroll will be sorely missed today especially given the form he has been in and with two must win games we really could use him.

Happy enough with the line up. 4-4-2 instead of a poxy 4-5-1. Need to play with no fear. Wigan bossed us at our place earlier on in the season and we need to make sure that doesn't happen.

No N'Zogbia for Wigan today which is a blessing in disguise at really was him that pulled all the strings for them when they played against us.

Barton was shocking against spurs. Krul might have done a little better with both spurs goals IMO, i guess thats why Harps is back.

Enrique and Nolan are huge players for us. 2 of our best 5!

We could play 451 with that lineup, although i doubt it

I hope not to be honest. 4-4-2 has worked extremely well for us this season.

As i said post Spurs there is a reason we ditched it earlier this season!

Think this will be a draw, would have hoped for a win but without carroll i cant see it

Closing down Cleverly will be key.

We are looking like we did last week, struggling to get passes away, Credit to Wigans closing all the same

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Tiote looking complacent. We're trying too much and we'll get caught if we keep doing it.

We looked so calm at the back at the start of the season. We look very shaky now. Strange

Lack of Williamson I reckon tbh.

Ah Lovenkrands. Unlucky lad. Good play.

Dunno, the last three that Colo and Williamson played were wonky enough to if my memory serves me correctly, especially the Bolton game

    Whoa. Should've equalised.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Jausus, lucky there! Why was nolan marking Rod?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Surprised if we keep a clean sheet here, need to score at least one more to win this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Ameobi emulating Carroll to a T... Except should've buried that header early on.
