    Hi,
I am lookinng at getting a laptop and am a little unsure of the software I need.

I am self employed and hold a teaching post in a dublin university. I will be using the laptop for word processing, powerpoint presentations, music and video. I also need a good photo editing programme (like photoshop).

What do I need and how do you get discounts as a teacher?
There are different windows 7 packages any suggestion on which one to get I am finding all the different packages confusing?

    Any help appreciated!

First off, you need to look at the laptop you are getting. Its no use looking to purchase photoshop if its a low spec laptop. Im sure you will be able to purchase software through the university at discounted rates. So much good open source/free software out there at the moment too.
