Excercise for sacral joint pain..?

I would seriously appreciate any tips here, and would like to state that I'm not looking for medical advice.

I have a back problem, which was caused by childbirth over eight years ago. I've had xrays and scans and have finally been diagnosed with sacral joint problem - no disc damage, no arthritis etc etc
Anyway, this causes me tremendous pain, mainly at night (it's only on one side, left), to the point where I can no longer lie on that side and often wake up, having rolled over to my left side, in agony. It's like a constant, dull ache.

I have had physio for this problem, but in each instance, only received manipulation of the joint and the use of a tens machine, for pain relief.

Now I know your health is your wealth, but I'm on another waiting list for public physio as I can't afford to attend physio privately. To be honest, the way my job is, I also can't commit to taking fifteen/twenty mornings or afternoons off work to finally fix this problem, so when I finally get this appointment, I'm not sure what I'll do.

I'm sorry that this post is so long, but could any of you advise any basic stretching exercises that would tighten up the muscles around the ligaments on my left sacral joint, while I wait for this public appointment? Thank you.

Since you stated that you are not looking for medical advice I will keep this open for now.

Please don't give the OP medical advice people.

Thanks mod - no, I'm genuinely not looking for medical advice at all - like I said, I've had as much medical input as they can give me. I've also been prescribed anti-inflammatories, but can't take them as they kill my stomach.

What I'm looking for is a good stretching exerise that will tighten the muscle around the ligaments, on my left sacral joint. I do some stretching at the moment, but am never sure what good it's doing, thanks.

The problem here is that its going to be very hard for anyone to give you advice on what to do because they will not know the nature of the problem.

That coupled with the fact that there are very few people on here who will have an even close to adequate understanding to help. (and probably even less who will actually post.)

Thing is without knowing what the problem is or enough about physiology etc to comment people with the best intentions could give you the wrong info. And maybe make things worse. I mean I could post a video of a guy doing stretches to open the joint or stretch out the surrounding muscles but that may not be the problem.

Which I know isn't much help....

After a think I'm going to lock the thread, it's not really safe for strangers over the internet to give you exercises when no one here really knows the problem. It's more a professional advice that you shoul get.

If you can go to a physio before your public appointment, that would be a good idea. Maybe a visit to a GP also.

    Best of luck OP.
