I'm just wondering has there ever been an attempt to bring the Premier League to Dublin in the o2 or RDS, I know we get the Grand Prix it just seems strange that they haven't brought the League to the Republic.

The crowd at the Grand Prix tend to act like dicks, so I can't see the PDC bringing a PL event to Dublin any time soon, unfortunately.

I hope they dont because the carry on of the crowd at the Grand Prix would make you ashamed to be Irish .

Nope they will be in Belfast though. Agree with the sentiments shared above. The Irish crowds are a disgrace. Van Der Voort said the other day that people in Dublin threw beer at him and spat at him. I dont know if he was exaggerating the spitting part bit but its still shocking.

Yeah Friday night in Citywest is rough.

We have a seven day long tournament in Dublin already, why would we need one night of what is really a glorified exhibition? The big problem with the WGP is that in the last couple of years it's been played in a PL style venue.

Like everything is Ireland the scum turn up and ruin it, they are no interest in Darts ,just go to cause trouble!

Ireland will do well to hold on to the Grand Prix not to mind getting a premier league night. The carry on at the citywest the past few years has been a disgrace but last October's event was the worst ever and it seems the majority of darts players reckon it's the worst behaved venue in all of the PDC majors.

its a bloody shame isnt it , but sadly Darts hasnt got enough of a following to have appreciative darts players only as the audience . It does get the Hangers on who dont even know who they are abusing and find it funny to shout out at the wrong time.

Its a kind of double edged sword regarding TV darts , the arena have become that big that the crowd control is near impossible. Just noticed how quiet the Lakeside is compared to ally Pally.

Yeat we want to give the game as much coverage as possible so we need to go with Sky and the big arenas

been to Citywest and have to agree alot of people there to get muzzled on jugs of beer rather than watch the darts and enjoy the atmosphere ( and if you get muzzled how bad !!!!!!! LOL)

Having been to Manchester for the premier league I dont think that crowd behaviour would stop them going anywhere.

Agree with the comments above, the crowd in citywest have been shocking. One thing which doesn't help crowd order here either is the double start format. It gives the boo boys an opportunity to get on a players back from the very start of the leg shouting out when throwing at it then cheering when the player misses. The other majors don't have this to contend with as the formats different.

have to say i was involved in darts all my life.and have played in most tournements you are all sadly missing the point.i remember when you had your dart night out.it started early ans was over in time for a sing song what ruined that was the so called good dart players.they were so afraid of loosing they would gang up on the rest of the teams like packs of wolves.there was a time and not so long ago when you played your singles and doubles in your own shop that way they all played each other then they got that changed.and you were only allowed 2 county players per team.that started the rot in local darts people were afraid to open there mouths.its a working mans game and a drinkers game that al goes hand in hand with a bit of shouting its up to the venues to make sure that when our team mates as in mates get a little loud that there looked after.after all its about drink money and a night out can you imagine sitting there saying nothing.its our game lads blame the right people

Rumours in the Ally Pally last week that CityWest venue could be pulled, would be a real pity

Out of curiousity, were there any further rumours in relation to the event possibly being moved to the Breaffy Woods Sports Hotel outside Castlebar? That's a very strong rumour around here but obviously no fact or confirmation attached to it.

That's the funniest thing I've read on here in months

    Why?

Breaffy can barely cope with 500 at the INDO weekend.

Seriously, where would they put the games on - in the sports hall?

I Saw a very tasty punchup at the odyssey last year, 5 were thrown out. This was kept quiet for the same reason as mentioned above.

All involved would know as much about darts as Brian Cowan could remember about playing golf with sean fitzpatrick.

hmm, we [irish lads] have buckets of talent apart from the 10-20 lads who travel across to the U.K. all over Ireland there are lads so called on the fringe.why not start our very own Premier lge, lt'll will bring us on a lot. it bugs me that we havent had an Irish winner of the masters here for years, maybe with our own Premier league we could change that.

Maybe the top 8 from the IPC get invited to the Irish Premier League of Darts.

Would certainly make the top players not assume their place in the Grand Finals was worth skipping events, specially if the premier league got any kind of backing and money behind it

Great idea in theory but about a 0.01 percent of this happening . We can't even run a league for football.

Depends what kind of ''football'' you mean.... if its ''soccer'' we can its just everyone thinks its acceptable to support an English team, yet ''hate'' their national team and whinge about our own being poor which relates back to having a poorly supported domestic league.... but that's another topic :P
