So I see Catherine Thomas is presenting it this year now poor old Gerry is dead.
It won't be quite a funny with out the heavily obese presenter telling ppl they need to lose weight.

That Prof O'Sé looks like Conor O'Sé the ex rugby player, wonder are they related?

I was thinking the same thing watching this. They more than likely didn't keep up the weight loss so it would be useless doing a follow up.

Another "look at us poor fat people" programme......stop fu**ing eating......They're making them look like some sort of hero....

Why "more than likely"? Saw photos on Facebook (through mutual friends) of three of last year's participants (Anna, Conor & Amanda) at Amanda's wedding last month and they all looked brilliant.

If the transformation has occurred in how someone thinks, their body will follow.

If you don't like it bugger off and watch something else. I found the show to be very helpful in kick-starting a healthier lifestyle last year. I've still a way to go but am getting there by degrees and it's staying off. I'm sure you are slim and supergorgeous and have no personal issues whatsoever. Good for you, shame you haven't the manners to match.

It's the only show like this on Irish tv (with the exception of How Long Will You Live), not everyone has Sky. And even shows like The Biggest Loser aren't tailored to an Irish audience, nor do they have the interactive features of OT (people forming groups across the country, the roadshow, the national events, the radio show, the website). This show is very motivational for those wishing to lose weight. Everyone knows that healthy eating and exercise is what's needed, but if it was that simple we'd all be slim and healthy already. Anything that encourages people to make a start and hopefully stick with it is worthwhile.

Meanwhile, you have a remote control and the power to use it. This show gets decent ratings, you won't be missed.

Agreed! She looked like Jackie Lavin's younger sister  Far too much make up that she doesn't need.

Also the side boobage was unforgiveable - can't believe someone on production team didn't warn her of this. I'm sure Kathryn herself didn't like it when she seen herself...

She looked lovely in the shots of her going to peoples homes....

Good show. It's fairly original and the interactive aspects are good. I like that Aldi and Lidl are in on it so we can get the ingredients for healthy dinners on the cheap!

Miss Gerry from it though, even if he could have been a "leader" himself. :(

It was the size of the jumper that shocked me though

Wednesday was my start day to give up the chocolates and excess food that i've being enjoying for the past few weeks and the show has definitely motivated me to do this!!
I will definitely be tuning in each week and checking out the recipies and other info on the website. :)

Even if they did manage to keep up the weight loss fair play to them but what about the other people that have been on the show? The majority of overweight people that need motivation from someone or something else will find it very hard to keep the weight off after losing it. If you don't have the will power to lose the weight in the first place it will be impossible to keep it off on your own, unless they have plenty money to pay for help. I know of a good few people that lost weight with diet plans and weight loss programs, all of them have gained weight as soon as the program is over and the novelty wears off.

Ah jesus, I'm no Gerry fan, but over exagerrate much? You wanna see a heavily obese person, watch The Biggest Loser!

Anyway, bit of an imbalance again this year, show needs more male leaders.

I would guess that Gerry was for his weight/height above obsese on the BMI scale.

My sister will be on the show tomorrow, I live in Oz so I don't really know much about the show.

But she's lost 7lbs already, and for the first time she is actually sticking with eating healthy rather than just for a few days or drinking a diet coke with the meal.

She was sick for a week leading up to the filming, so she'll be the one last running up the hill tomorrow!
