    Hi Folks,

Im male 28, and have NEVER drank alcohol this was due to competing at international level for ireland in martial arts. So i never missed whats i never did and i aint to eager to start now.

I dont mind people drinking and have gone out with ex partners and friends who drink ALOT and it wouldnt bother me they do there thing and i do mine.

Alot of my friends now are in r.ships, or moved away so just wondering does anyone know any groups for people who dont drink alcohol in cork city or anyone interested in doing something let me know.

    Happy New Year to all.

    Rocky

Well I still love goin out to pubs and clubs, just bein sober makes me a bit more picky :P

I also go to loads of gigs, late cinema screenings

Groups wise, try Meetup.com for local clubs. The more random the better :D

I'm sure as a martial artist at your level you have made lots of friends through your training - who would share your sentiment. Surround yourself with these people! I did MA from the age of 13. When my 'friends' were out drinking cans at 15 I was in the dojo. Needless to say I'm much better off than a lot of them today.
I'm actually heading out tonight. Advantage of sobriety? I am going to 2 different parties in one night because I am driving. Oh, and I will look fab at both. Not falling around, slumped, with my make up looking like something from a horror film!! :D

I've three tonight. I love driving off into the distance feeling smug :D Especially when it's piddling rain.

@ POCONNOR16 - I have lived in Cork just a little over 2 years i not from here and i dont see what been into Martial Arts got to do with it to be honest.

But i can see what you mean that whatever interests or previous hobbies people have been in that they would have developed contacts from this. Well its not that straight forward.

    But thanx for your comment.
