    Hi,

I have 255/55's R18's on my TD5 Special Vehicles Disco, but I is Skint!! So, I am looking to get some new tyres which will suit both Winter and Summer. Does anyone have any ideas regarding "affordable" tyres??

Oh, by the way, I'm also looking for a rooftent+roofrack and a rear bumper for the disco 2.

    Regards, Paul

Camskill is your best bet for good value.

Be tough to find a cheap all season tyre in that size.

You'll struggle to get cheap tyres for 18" rims I think. Have a look at www.silverline4x4.com for a huge range of 4x4 tyres, then see if Camskill will do what you want here.

You may find it false economy to fit cheap tyres anyway, they don't last long whereas you'll get 70k or more out of a set of BFG A/Ts. What are you looking to do with the vehicle? Sounds like an all terrain pattern is what you want but think about getting more rubber between you and the road with a 16 or 17" rim, 18" maybe fine for good roads and motorways but not so good elsewhere. There are some good wheel/tyre packages, especially in 16" but be aware that rims off Defender or earlier Discos won't fit a D2.

There's lots of suppliers of roofracks and roof tents, none of them cheap though! Check out rooftent.co.uk
Jonathan Crozier does some nice stuff, otherwise look at the expeditions forum on LRA or buy one of the comics in Easons
