There is one on Shelbourne Road but that's a good 15 minutes walk away from Holles Street; not that handy.

If you are just up there for a once off visit mid week you are as well to suck it and pay on street parking or else use public transport if you can. Weekends and evenings, some of the streets around Fenian Street are pay parking on Monday-Friday only which is handy enough :)

Ouch!!!! A friend does it on the bus and hates it. Perhaps you could try park and ride on the Luas from Tallaght and then walk from Connolly or Georges/Spencer Dock if only to save the sorry of looking for parking and a long city drive.

Hey again, yeah bus isnt really an option here - its 13 hour shifts - starting 7.30am finishing 8.30pm so kinda awkward... last year, i drove to ucd (I am studying there) and got a bus from there into holles st. but would dearly love to be able to drive straight in this year, as I need any spare time I can get... by the time I get home from shift, other half needs to run out the door to his shift, so we need to save any time we possibly can (2 kids) it usually ends up being 17 hour days (leave at 5.30am,not home till 10.30pm) so if i could find a car park nearby it would be a dream.. will find out this week, cause he is convinced he seen one a few weeks back!
    Thanks for your help though!!!

Grand Canal Square at €20.00 per day is probably your best bet.

I thought that there was a small car park for staff parking in Holles Street

Yip, there is a very small carpark out the back but its not for my use unfortunately (i'm a student) - its only a very small car park that caters for very few numbers.

To be quite honest, I can't see a commute being 2 hours in and out at those times of days as you will be missing the rush hour at either side of the day. I'd say 30 minutes from the Square would be a reasonable allowance

On car parks, Connolly Station is €7.50 a day and will leave you about ten minutes walk away. If you are a student nurse then budget will be essential and it's one of the cheapest in the city centre.

Thanks for your estimation there - but I have done the journey for a few months last year, so I guess I am pretty up to speed with it.... I leave my house at 5.30am and get home usually in or around 10.15pm! Bussing it from the square is not an option for me - will not delve into the details, as I simply posted on here looking for advice regarding car parks near holles st!

Thanks for the second piece of information - thats what I am looking for.. advice re: car parks! so thank u

There is a small carpark on lower grand canal st (2 min walk to holles st), it's on opp side of road to spar, beside a pub (the name of which escapes me)... €8 per day. Fills up early, but since you start early it sounds ideal.

Alternatively there is free parking in the housing estate at back of O'Briens and lots of other locations near there (opp side of road to o'briens), from doolans back to grattan st.
