Faulty Lambda probe - How much to replace??

    Think my 08 Vw golf needs a new Lambda probe?? Can I still drive car till I get it to garage next week and how much will it cost to fix?

    would an 08 still be in manufacturer warranty?

    Unfortunately warrenty up since Feb last :(

    i thought they were three year. never mind that so.

    the lambda would cause rough running, might cause the engine to stall to, but nothing terminal.

    id say fitting a genuine vw sensor at a main dealer would cost about 200 euro, give or take a little bit.

    No Volkswagon warrenty only 2 years! Rang AA to see could they help as they thought I with them still but that went out with the warrenty.

    Read the manual to see what light on dash meant and it says that fault has developed during driving which has reduced the quality of the exhaust gas eg lambda probe fualt. Reduce speed and bring to nearest qualified workshop to have engine checked.

    The car was spluttering for few days as if driving with dirty petrol but getting me around till the dealers open again on Tues. Warning light only came on this evening.

    Dont fancy staying at home till tues morn. Thanks for your info!
