I have a Parrot bluetooth handsfree with an IPOD connection. Brilliant system. Those 99c FM yokes are useless.

A lot of radios have an AUX connection and it's just a matter of hooking it up.
Newer Ford radios have an AUX connection at the back and the cable is available from Ford for a few quid.
Why they didn't just put the bit of wire into the car only God and Ford knows.
Those thingamabobs that fit into the cassette slot of an ancient radio or FM transmitters are pretty poor.
If I had an older car with an ancient radio I'd even consider those ALDI/LIDL car stereos, they seem to have everything, AUX in, USB, Bluetooth, etc...
I'd consider that the best way on a budget.

Unless your car's stereo has some sort of AUX in option, I'm afraid there aren't.

Been using an aux-in for mine in my last few cars, but just got an iPod/cd changer interface doohickey from xcarlink.co.uk, it emulates a cd changer input and translates head unit controls back to the iPod, the one I got also includes Bluetooth handsfree for using your phone through your speakers.

Just about to fit it this afternoon as it happens.

@KDouglas I am using the same kit - I had it installed a few days ago. It's not bad at all so far. You can also stream music to it using the Bluetooth, which is a nice feature.

Reports elsewhere say that there are a lot of crap FM transmitters out there plus you need to be sure that you're using an FM frequency that is not being used by a legal or illegal radio station, this varies around the country so there's no magic frequency that you can use all over the country. You need to tune the radio to the frequency with the FM transmitter not connected and make sure that there is a steady hiss with no trace of voice or music before you use that frequency but remember that on a long journey you will definitely have to retune.

Monster and Griffin make good FM transmitters for Apple iPods.
