I just got myself a GoPro Hero HD, how did you mount the camera on the pole, and what did you use for the pole ?

I was thinking of getting the Xshot 2.0 camera extender and using the GoPro tripod mount.

    Cheers, great video btw !

Very nice video there Jamie. I need to get out to BC at some point in the future. Working on an edit now from the last couple of weeks in Val d'Isere.

Notice one of you have a GNU vertighoul in one of your earlier vids. Picked one up during the summer and haven't been out on it yet. I heard its ideal for pow and pipe but whats it like as an all mountain?

I plan on using it mostly in the park in mayrhofen and the more I read the more worried I am that it may be too stiff.

    Cheers

Yeah I rode it quite a lot last year, about 50 days, but just sold it on as I needed something longer for powder (it was a 155 and I'm about 6'2, but skinny!). Got a new Yes board in 158 for the powder and have the K2 worldwide weapon 155 you can see in the video for park.

I really loved the Gnu. It's about a 7.5 out of 10 in terms of stiffness, which is not necessarily a bad thing - it really held an edge on the groomers, especially with the magnetraction edges (they are not just a gimmick) which also meant it was very stable and predictable on park jumps. The banana shape is great for powder and makes it quite fun to butter, in spite of the stiffness. Naturally it doesn't press as easily on boxes/rails as a soft board does but it's all still possible with a bit of effort. The pop, stability at speed and edge hold definitely make up for that. The materials are all very high end and the base is suuuuper fast so you'll have a blast no matter what you're riding.

Hey Jamie, what monopole are ye using - or is it just a ski pole with tripod adaptor?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 24 jamieharte

whitey, we just used one of the helmet attachment pieces duct-taped to an old ski pole. It's actually pretty good as you can flip the camera through 180 degrees to either film yourself or point it at someone else. J
