Can't get channels to work

Hi, I got a Sony Bravia BX400 as posted on Bargain Alerts (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056128298).

I've tried auto tuning and I can't get any digital channels, and the only analogue channels that came up are RTE1 and RTE2 but there is only sound and an occasional scrambled picture.

On my old television I could get RTE1, RTE2, TV3 and TG4 with perfect reception. I am a complete newb, where do I go from here :(?

Can you confirm if you are using an indoor or outdoor Aerial ?
If it's indoor did you reposition the Aerial in the same place as before ?

In general if you get TG4 and TV3 on analogue you will get perfect DTT.

We have an outdoor aerial on the roof.

What type aerial have you got ?

    Where is it pointing.

    There are 2 DTT transmitters

    Mullaganish Ch 21 (474MHZ)

    Knockmoyle Ch 52 (722MHZ)

Probably the Knockmoyle. Try manually scanning that dvb-t frequency and see are you getting any life in the signal bar.

Might be an idea to re-connect the old TV again and see what were the UHF channel numbers/MHz frequencys for RTE 1/2/TV3/TG4 and then try manual analogue/digital tuning with new TV knowing what the frequencies are, along with the matching DTT frequency (Mullaghanish/Knockmoyle) STB has stated above.

Also check cable connections. Could have been loosened etc. with installation of new TV.
