Help, my iphone 4 has gone blank. I was surfing when a section of the screen greyed out and has stayed grey. Now, do I reset, and if so, how? My contact details are safe but I don't want to lose my messages. Only Safari is affected, all other functions are as normal.

hold down the home and lock keys, it'll do a warm boot.. worth a try.

have ya tried rebooting, press and hold the power and home buttons together until the apple logo appears on screen, ignore the slide to turn off message
