What were your best moments from darts in 2010?

As 2010 draws to a close I've been looking back at the year in darts and I've been picking out some of the highlights of the year for me.

Personally the highlight of the year for me was Scott Waites amazing victory over James Wade in the Grand Slam Of Darts final in November. After going down 8-0 he made 1 of the most amazing comebacks in the history of darts to win 16-12. Also Adrian Lewis's great comeback win over Phil Taylor in Dublin in the World Grand Prix in October was a great moment.

The new World Cup team event in December was a brilliant idea by the PDC and is a tournament that was hailed by many as 1 of the best this year on the PDC calendar.

Regarding the Irish players it was great to see William O'Connor having such a good run at the UK Open and in his first year on the tour he managed to secure his tour card for 2011. Brendan Dolan continues to climb the rankings and I reckon it won't be long before he'll be in the top 32 of the World.

As regards the BDO Martin McCloskey reaching the semi finals of the Winmau World Masters was a great achievement which should have been rewarded with a place in the Lakeside World Championship rather than a stand by player from the qualifiers getting it.

Ted Hankey beating Taylor in the Grand Slam was pretty funny, I would have never expected it at the start of the year. Steve Beaton coming from behind to knock Taylor out a few days later was almost as good. All of Taylor's defeats were great, none of them coming against his main rivals like Barney, Whitlock or Wade. There was a great session on the New Years Day afternoon, I think it was Webster/Stompe followed by Whitlock/Wade. In fairness to Taylor his two 9 darters in the League Final was amazing, especially coming in a tight match instead of a procession.

I've a short memory so I'd have to go for the Anderson Priestly match yesterday. Had everything: great scoring, great comeback, excitement, great sportsmanship (no gamesmanship!), great crowd (no booing) and Denis proving that he's still world class at 60.
In general 2010 might go down as the year that so many players broke through to the very highest level. I think the list of players that are capable of winning a world championship in the next few years has never been higher. Great to see players from outside traditional darts countries making a name for themselves also.

I doubt the two 9 darters will ever be repeated in one single game. Amazing by no stretch of the imagination.

Taylor's two nine darter's was the best monment of 2010. While Hankey beating Taylor and having the crowd on his side was most enjoyable. However my best match of 2010 was woods vs. wagner at the lakeside was just edge of seat stuff, but waites clawing back wade was fantastic.

Taylors two nine darters. It was the equivelant of hitting 2 holes in one on the back nine of a major. Simply unbelievable...

Without a doubt Taylors two 9darters.

He nearly got back-to-back 9 darters in that game as well. Can't believe in a matter of months he is now making the last 8 or 16 of many tournaments.

My personal favourite highlight is Lewis beating Taylor as well. Lewis being my 2nd favourite player, I was delighted.
