this blint is 16 and crashed into a van and killed 8.. she is texting on the side of the road after saying things like, whoops, hit a van, not sure how many dead...?

age isint really relevant there. its just adding to the stigma young drivers are already burdened with.

any driver who was texting while driving could have potentially made that mistake regardless of age.

Seriously though, since most of us don't speak Thai (or whatever the language is called) this thread is kinda pointless as all we have to go by is a few blurry pictures (and nice legs next to a crashed car)

Absolutely. This one was unlucky to hit a van full of people. Who knows how safe the van was, whether it rolled over, was suitable for passengers or whether they were wearing seatbelts.

It's not as if she machine gunned a family. It was an accident, and a horrific one.

Many drivers have scrapes when learning to drive. Any of up could have been unfortunate enough to make a huge mistake. To bring in how well off the unfortunate driver is financially isn't gonna help anyone

my wife is thai, this is a big story on news there at moment

seems the girl is 16yo and her father is a high ranking soldier who guards the Thai King

a lot of the comments on the facebook links you put up are people asking for her to be treated properly by the law and not like the daughter of a top soldier, the law can be a little un-fair in thailand sometimes

also, it seems that nobody in the minibus was wearing seatbelts

what happened was the 16 yr old girl was speeding, and clipped the van...

causing the crash...i dont think she was texting when she was driving (but who knows)...

after the crash she just wandered onto the barrier with her wreck beside her and posted messages on fb and other sites saying dumb things like ugh ugh, just caused a wreck, whoops..

all this while 8 lie dead and one hanging off a motor way bridge....

she had a very very low iq ....

well thailand is a good place to go if you want to get killed driving...

crazy laws also, if an Irish guy robbed someone of a camera you would get holed up in jail... dont mention getting cought with drugs.

while this teenager will proably be driving another car in a few weeks time

All so true, I know for a fact that the first thing thai paramedics do at the scene of an accident is assess people's IQ, even before checking vital signs.
