Personally I'm annoyed by them calling around to my apartment and ringing my buzzer all the time... so when I'm not expecting people these days, I tend to answer it in a scummer tone of voice.

The re-actions I've gotten were hilarious.

Needless to say, I think we may have been struck off their list. Haven't had anyone marketing anything to us in a while...

What I hate about them is they insist on a 12 month contract. I switched from ESB to Bord Gais. I made sure that there wasn't a long contract in place..

I see they don't mention that in the ad's

There are no 12 month contracts when it comes to power supply. Whoever is telling you this is telling you porkies...

There are no 12 month contracts when it comes to power supply. Whoever is telling you this is telling you porkies...

    From their site:
    1. Fixed term contract applies, for a period up to 12 months (the remainder of the sign-up month plus the next 11 months, assuming valid gas and electricity meter reads provided at sign-up).

    Also:

9.€100 termination fee applies if the contract is broken prior to expiration of fixed term. Contract will be deemed to be broken if the customer a): moves their gas and/or electricity to another supplier; b) switches their gas and/or electricity product to another Airtricity product.

    Also check this link: http://ireland.world-countries.net/archives/56205
Those who want to avail of the new bundled deal will have to sign a 12-month contract. Up to now, those switching from the ESB or Bord Gais have been able to avoid signing up for long-term contracts.
Simon Moynihan of independent price comparison website Bonkers.ie said the new Airtricity offering was a good deal for consumers.

“It is unusual for an energy supplier to lower gas prices coming into winter,” he said.

In Britain, discounts on gas prices are usually kept until the spring when families use less gas.

He stressed that those who want to avail of the new discount deal will have to agree to receive both gas and electricity supplies from Airtricity, receive bills online and pay by direct debit.
Consumers will also have to sign a one-year contract, and will be hit by a €100 penalty if they decide they want to switch back to their old supplier.

Another tough job thats not good enough for the ordinary person to do - No wonder there's a "no jobs out there" attitude out there on the dole queues.

Airtricity door to door salespeople are dishonest lying twats. Just have a look at the consumer issues forum for proof.

That doesn't work. They called around to me before Xmas and I politely said "no thanks" and the two gimps continued their learnt off spiel. I said "no thanks" again and they still continued, at that point I had to tell them they were trespassing and I shouted inside to release the hounds...

Their gimps of the highest order and will tell you just about anything to get you to sign up; in my experience with them.

No 12-month contract for electricity users only. Account holders can opt out any time. Since ESB lowered their prices last month, they are now the lowest provider (see www.moneyguideireland.com/category/airtricity)

Don't do it. ESB is the cheapest since last month (see www.moneyguideireland.com/category/airtricity)
