Increasingly I have noticed that a number of restaraunts in shopping centres won't let you use the toilet facilities on their premises, but instead you have to use the toilets outside of their premises and in the shopping centre. Is this legal? I thought when serving food one had to have toilet facilities on premises?

Do you mean as a paying or non paying customer?

It may be that the toilets on the premises are for catering staff only.

The general public isn't allowed use these for hygiene reasons.
