    Hi folks,

I need a little help or guidance if you wish in choosing a new laptop for myself, any advice would be much appreciated.
Basically, my budget is around 600 euro and I cant come up with anything better than these two (see links bellow), both come with i3 or i5 processors, but please feel free to suggest anything else that you think might be a better choice than these two for the given price per spec. I would also prefer to buy in Ireland but could order from UK too if it must be (shipping price doesnt have to be included in those 600). Must have's: processor like above or better, at least 320gb, 3mb ram, web cam, screen size at least 13 and hdmi connection/card is desirable but not necessary .
Use: general, do have nc10 at the moment which is fine for college work but screen size is head wrecking for general use hence why I would like a laptop now.

    Dell Inspiron 15r

    Lenovo

Any help or advice would be much appreciated and it doesnt have to be these two if ya have anything else on your mind, or if you dont which one of these two would you go for???

    Thank you very much

Will you be doing any gaming? If yes what games (or even types) and at what settings do you require (high, ultra, playable etc!)
    Battery life wanted?
    Screen size 14, 15, 17inch?
    Portability?
Any particular programs you plan to use e.g. Matlab, CAD?

Not that much into gaming now days but I would like to play occasionally, although the only game I ever played on pc was need for speed back few yrs ago so I am not sure if any of the games I like are out on pc, GT5 for instance I dont think it is, other stuff is call of duty, rainbow six, grid, gt's, driver, forza and some strategy. Settings dont have to be ultra high if thats what ya mean just decent enough but then again I am not sure if any of these are or will be available for comps, used to play them on ps which I dont have any more.

Good battery life is always wanted I think, I've rarely been in situation where battery goes dead with no power outlets near by but it is annoying when it does happen and ya cant plug it in

Screen size 15 max due to portability reasons, wouldnt like to carry extra heavy stuff around but I never had a laptop before only one notebook and pc's so I wouldnt really know only assumption (is there much difference in weight?)

Programs, starting with CAD in 4 mths time, never really thought about that in my first post, thank you.

My advice is to avoid Lenovo like the plague. They lie about stock availability and have poor customer service.
