Replacing a strap - what are the measurements?

One of my watches needs a new strap - but I'm not sure if there's a standard measurement for where it connects to the watch itself?

It was a very cheap watch (here), so would prefer not to spend more than 20 on a leather strap. Would I need to buy the bar that attaches it as well?

I shouldnt think so as far as the springbar goes. That's a separate item that you can reuse. That said bear in mind Ive never had a metal bracelet watch in my life, only leather straps so I could be waaayyyyy off there eoin. As for measurement, that is the gap between the lugs of the watch.

    That's the size you want.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

At that price you'd nearly be better buying the watch again

Good thinking - but the strap that came with it was really lightweight, and I think I'd prefer a leather strap for it anyway.

It looks like I could just get those bars as that's what failed, but I think I'll change the strap all the same.

Thanks very much for the help guys :)
