There will be new netbooks and laptops being announced at CES next week, so many of the older models might come down in price.

If you really need one now, get the Asus, best battery life.
    Windows 7 starter is pigs.

He's right is some ways, Intel's bargain basement Celeron CPU's will still out-perform the Atom's, obviously the latter produces less heat and is much smaller. Comparison here:

Intel and AMD will be announcing new CPU's at CES, so hang on a bit longer if you can. ;)

Atom were not meant to play games or heavy cpu load. Really, That were designed for light weight (4x lighter than a regular laptop). Basically, for travelling alot the standard laptop would be too heavy to carry around with you. until this new ION 2 came out and the N4** and D5** their were not really more uptodate games at all (and the majority of this year aren't playable).

But the eee pc says exactly what is on the tin. Surf the web and check your email and handle various MS office work. The eee pc is so light that you'll hardly notice you are carrying it.

It is really designed as a student/traveler, no more. That fact that we can play Dawn of War 2, Starcraft 2 on it, is a bonus! The ION 2 GFX was more designed to play HD videos flawlessly no play games.

It does everything, it was said to do. Always get asus by far the best and more reliable. That is not hot air that is a fact read the reviews. personally I am getting an Asus 1215N (without USB 3/ phone Charger, bloody hard to find in europe).

I am getting mine from Amazon, deliverer is free, so it is almost level with komplett.ie and they would have it in stock until feb 14th :/.

I got the N145 Plus which is identical to that model except it has a 160GB drive. Got it for 220 in Power city on Stephen's Day but think the are up to 250 now which is still a good deal. Great little machine for the price.
