    Hi all

Was just wondering if you pass the FE1 exams and are looking for a training solicitor firm is it easy find one in limerick or any other county?

Do they all pay the salary of the law society or do they pay their own and how do they decide to cover ppc 1 and 2 fees for some people.

Is it really worth this 3 yr training for qualification will the overall salary be worth it or will it be imposs to get into a permanent position within a firm?

Do firms look for a undergraduate in law cause I would be a non law graduate.

Any advice in relation to above welcomed.

No, not really TBH. See the other big threads on people's attempt at trying to get a training contract

Not all. Mostly just the large firms

It's worth it if that's what you want to do. The salaries are lower than they used to be but are still very good relatively speaking (for big firms at least); many, many small-medium firms are having seriously tough times at the moment. It wouldn't be impossible to get a permanent position but it would be far from guaranteed, no matter which firm you're with

Some do but the majority don't care too much. Some nearly prefer candidates with other qualifications but would want to see some FE1s in the bag AFAIK

Any advice in relation to above welcomed.

I've just qualified and I love my job. However, I have been having a desperate time trying to get a new job and I am being made redundant soon enough. If I was to be honest, I would say wait 5/6 years before considering law. The profession is saturated and needs a few years to balance out. I think I will have to move to the UK if I don't have a job come this summer :(
