Hey folks i'm in the market for a new laptop.I'll be using it for surfing, watching movies, downloading music/movies etc.
I want it to be able to hook up to the telly handy enough too.
just want to ask you lot which brand/spec i'd need seeing as i'm not going to use it for gaming.for example would 3/4 gb RAM be too much?
There seems to be a good sale in curry's/pc world which i saw posted in bargain alerts....so would that be my best bet?

    Thanks all,

    Rob

hey all,i've been looking at the dell xps 15 and it seems to be a great laptop.
would it be worth spending the extra few quid on this rather than go for a cheaper inspiron?is it a better build quality etc?
the jbl speakers and hd camera are pretty cool additions.
all in all with 4gb RAM,free antivirus for 15 months, free lojack,500gb hard drive and the i5 processor it comes to 730 ex delivery.good deal or will i find something similar elsewhere for cheaper?
If anyone here has one i'd love to know what ya think.:)

Well that graphics card is total overkill for a "non gamer" for starters!

I'd personally go for that one over the Inspiron, but you shouldn't really restrict yourself to just Dells...

If you spend any more than say 250-300 euro you are wasting your money.

2gb of RAM is more than enough for what you need your laptop for. Don't take the amount of hard drive space into account either because storage memory is cheap and easy to supplement. Any graphics card at all is too much if you won't be gaming.

Sounds like you should just get a netbook to be honest.
