I am thinking about buying a Galaxy S or Desire as an upgrade from my HTC Hero - just wondering is there much point in doing this?

My HTC still works and i could hopefully get another 6 months from it, so am i better off just waiting for something new around next summer? Are these phones much of an upgrade on the hero?

I wouldn't bother with either unless you're absolutely dying for Flash or Angry Birds. Is your Hero rooted? I have mine running Froydvillain 1.7.2 with a Gingerbread theme and it's flying along. Slower than a Desire or Galaxy S, but not by much. CES 2011 is in a few days and a Honeycomb announcement is expected. Depending on what's announced, I'll probably hold off upgrading till July or so.
