Film camera repair

I recently bought a Canon GIII QL17 off eBay, but I've managed to break it.

As far as I can gather, I've knocked the lens, and one of the elements has come slightly loose meaning all shots out of it are out of focus on one side. I've ran 2 rolls through it, and everything but the first 2 shots has this problem, which is why I think I broke it rather than it arriving banjaxed.

    Here's a typical shot.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can get this repaired for a reasonable cost?

I would try contacting zerohamster on here for some advice. He has helped a few here before.

Yeah, check with zerohamster. There is a strip across the top of the image, about 1/6th of the way down that is definitely in focus.. this makes me think that the lens is no longer straight on the camera body. (It should be entirely perpendicular in 2 axes to the plane of the film.. it looks like it's not.. it looks like it's off to one side.)

I wish you luck with it!

That would make sense - I put a UV filter on when shooting the second roll, and it was visible in the frame but only on one side. Seems like it's wonky alright, I'll get in touch with zerohamster.

    Thanks!

I"ve taken mine apart before to clean the diaphram blades. Simple way to explain it is that there are a series of threaded lock rings at the front that you can get specific tools for and unscrew them to take the lens apart. It's far more simple than it first seems. I ws lucky enough to be able to use a scissors and pair of tweezers to fit into the grooves on the lock rings.
